Are you tired of sitting at your desk waiting and waiting and waiting for your computer to finally finish booting up Windows? Does this problem just seem to be getting worse and worse? You’re not alone! The longer we operate our computer systems the more programs, applications, data, and bugs we collect that negative affect the overall performance and increase the time it takes for your Windows Operating System to load.
Here’s what you need to do to manually remove some of these programs that you do not need to start automatically:
Microsoft Windows Vista: Use Windows Defender to identify startup programs and disable those you no longer require to load at machine boot-up:
· Click “Start” then select “All Programs.” Next, you’ll click “Windows Defender.”
· Select “Tools” and then click on “Software Explorer.” A Category box will open and you will need to click “Startup Programs.”
· A long list of programs will be displayed at this time. To disable the automatic startup of a particular program, simply find the program and click “Disable.” You will then confirm your selection by clicking “Yes.”
· After scrolling down the list and disabling certain programs from starting automatically, click “Apply” and then “OK.” You will be asked to restart your machine, select “OK” and your Windows Vista should restart more quickly depending on how many programs you removed from startup.
